TOPSHOP MAKEUP WISHLIST // Face, Lips and Nails

After reading so many amazing reviews about Topshop cosmetics recently, I just had to compile a list of all my favourite items. Some of these products I've been able to swatch in their London stores - although I have to say their makeup stand was a horrible mess the day I went which was a disappointment.

These shades are all gorgeous and perfect for the summer weather we're having at the moment! What do you think...

SALLY HANSEN // Lip Inflation Plumping Treatment

On the weekend I had a little lookie in Poundland's makeup section and picked up a few things. I was shocked by what I'd found there; there were loads of well known brands including Rimmel, Covergirl, Collection, Sally Hansen and OPI [Yes I know! They were selling OPI and I went a little crazy - post coming soon!?].

I have quite small lips so if I can find any products that'll make them look bigger I'll usually give it a go, which is why I ended up leaving with this! I own a few Sally Hansen nail varnishes which are brill, so I was hoping their make up wouldn't disappoint.

Sally Hansen | Lip Inflation | Sheer Blush | Buy Here or Coloured Version Here

On the packaging it claims to give you instantly plumped lips which is not something I would agree with. After applying the product, I have to wait around five minutes or so for my lips to plump up a bit and even then its not a huge difference. You get a very gentle tingling sensation on the lips, thankfully not like other lip plumpers I've tried which stung my lips so much I had to wipe them off a couple of minutes later!

Lip Inflation contains ginger and cinnamon which are both used to irritate the sensitive skin of your lips so that they swell slightly.. lovely! It also contains peppermint which counteracts this and works to soothe and cool the lips. You can smell a slight minty scent if you really sniff it but it's not overpowering.

The consistency of the gloss is quite thick, it reminds me a lot of ELF's Liquid Lipsticks which are my favourite lip glosses ever. I personally prefer thicker lip glosses and like how this one's not too sticky. It comes with a brush applicator instead of the doe foot applicators I'm used to, which is actually really easy to use.

I chose to get this in the colour Sheer Blush because I really wanted the extra shine and like a touch of colour. It's a peachy nude colour which contains ultra fine gold glitter. There was also a clear one which I think would be great to use over lipsticks :)

I especially love how moisturising this lip gloss is, even after a full day of wear my lips don't feel at all dry! This could be due to the fact that it contains Vitamins A and E which nourish the lips and leave them feeling soft.

All in all, pretty good for a pound don't you think?

SLEEK // Face Form Contouring And Blush Palette

Sleek Face Form Kit | Light | £9.99 | Buy Here

So I eventually gave in and bought the Sleek Face Form Kit in Light when Superdrug had their 3 for 2 deal across all make up on.. and I'm so glad I bought it. I knew I wanted their infamous contour kit as well as their rose gold blush, so I was planning on buying them separately until I came across this little beauty! Now, my Superdrug literally has hardly anything in stock - it seems to fly out the store as soon as it comes in and they never have tester palettes out. This put me in an awkward position because it meant I had to guess which kit to get by going off photos and swatches on the internet. There are four different kits; the fair and light kits have the contour powder, highlight and rose gold blush and the medium and dark ones have a bronzer instead. I was torn between light and medium but finally settled on light because the blush really did it for me!

In terms of the packaging, like all Sleek products this came in an elegant black case with the logo on the top. It has the trademark huge Sleek mirror, which is always useful in a compact! The only peeve I have about the packaging is that although it looks gorgeous when it's brand new - after about a week in my makeup bag it is literally covered in scuffs and fingerprints since everything shows up on the matte black :(

For me the contour powder is slightly too light, and I could have really done with a shade darker for more pronounced contouring. That being said, I can still use it as it is very easy to build up to a darker shade without having the problem of going overboard! This matte brown powder is very easy to blend out so you're not left with dirty brown streaks everywhere which was my biggest contouring fear.

The highlight is my absolute favourite thing in the whole kit, which is surprising since I was so excited about the other two powders. It's a stunning highlighter with a slight peachy pink tint to it, so it will work really well on every skin tone without being too bright. It's so versatile - one swipe can give you a subtle glow during the day but this can be built up for evenings out.

And finally is the rose gold blusher.. a well known dupe for NARS Orgasm and my favourite colour. I'd been eyeing up this blusher for a very long time, so the fact that it came in this kit was a huge plus for me. Like all Sleek products, it's very pigmented so trust me when I say a little goes a long way! The colour is stunning on the cheeks - it's a beautiful multi tonal colour with lots of gold specks which catch the light.

All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase as all three products compliment each other perfectly and it's really great value for money since the powders are so pigmented - I can't see myself hitting pan anytime soon! The only thing I would advise you to do before buying, is swatch the colours in store if you can because it's quite hard to tell from online photos alone. If you're darker than NC35 I would suggest going for medium or dark.

For the above swatches, I took four swipes of each one to make sure it showed up on camera. In reality they are much more subtle and lighter!

excuse the awkward angle but what I look like after some gentle contouring!

Cupcakes And Velvet :)

Today I went to a lovely little garden party for my friend Charlotte's 18th birthday but phwoar was it hot today! I think temperatures hit the thirties so we were all pretty much melting outside in the sun, but all in all 'twas a nice lazy afternoon with friends :) Took a few pictures of her birthday cake which was absolutely gorgeous and had teeny little cupcakes around it which were super cute..

I was digging through my cupboard and came across a pair of leggings I'd bought a while back but never really worn too much. Although they're velvet, they're very thin as they're made out of a mesh type material so I thought I'd start finally getting some use out of them! I paired it with a plain black body and a sheer loose fit black shirt, just to keep my arms covered up a bit so they didn't fry in the sun!
